Houston Rockets star has bought into the owner group that controls Houston Dynamo in MLS and Houston Dash by NWSL.
The 29-year-old former NBA MVP joins a group that includes boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya and majority owner Gabriel Brener. He is the fifth overall member of the owner group.
According to the team, the average MLS club value has increased by 650% over the last 10 years.
"Houston is my home now and I saw it as a way to invest in my city and expand my business interests at the same time. Football in general, and especially MLS, has exploded in the country throughout my life. I've been a fan of the game for years and I know Houston has a massive football fan base, so it was a simple decision for me when this opportunity arose, "said Harden in a announcement by Dynamo.
"We are happy to welcome James to our club. He is an icon in the Houston community, and not only is he a good basketball player, he has an extremely clever and knowledgeable mind for business," says Brener, who leads the owner group.
Harden gave a look at his expectations on the plan with a series of Adidas social media brands in Europe, visiting with Arsenal FC in the Premier League in London.
That visit made a noticeable quote from the tweeter.
The harden also gives a big name on Houston's pitch to host World Cup matches in 2026.
