Hy-Vee announces investigation into data breach



Hy-Vee announced Wednesday that it is investigating a "payment card data incident" involving its payment processing systems. The company said in a news release that the security incident involved payment processing systems at some Hy-Vee fuel pumps, thru coffee shops, Market Grilles, Market Grille Expresses and the Wahlburgers locations that Hy-Vee owns and operates. Hy-Vee said it detected unauthorized activity in some of its payment processing systems. Law enforcement is involved in the investigation.The company said it "takes the security of payment card data very seriously" and will provide more information as the investigation continues.He-Vee encouraged shoppers to closely monitor payment card statements and to notify financial institutions or any unauthorized charges.
