Has any Marvel movie star ever won an Emmy?

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has not been much of a challenger when it comes to Oscars, especially when it comes to the actors themselves. But that does not mean that they are not talented. In fact, some have also had big roles on the small screen. Here are the MCU stars who have been nominated for Emmys in the past.

Before he was Iron Man, Downey Jr. spent a lot of time in the TV world. He was briefly on Saturday Night Live before joining the 80's Brat Pack.

And around the time he was trying to make a comeback after his time in rehab, he appeared in the show Ally McBeal and earned him an Oustanding Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series nomination in 2001. He didn't 39; t work.

Mark Ruffalo

The man who became the Hulk never spent much time on the small screen, except for the short-lived 2000 series The Beat . But he appeared in the HBO TV movie 2014 The Normal Heart which was nominated for numerous Emmy Awards.

Ruffalo was nominated for his role as well as being recognized as an executive producer, and so he is technically an Emmy winner since the film took home the award for outstanding television movie.

Benedict Cumberbatch

Before Doctor Strange Cumberbatch was actually best known for a TV role – he played the lead role in the BBC series Sherlock as the named detective. This part earned him four nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor In a Limited / Miniseries or Movie, and he won in 2014 while competing again for Ruffalo.

(Confirmation of the movie length episodes and three-season season format of Sherlock it cannot fall into the regular Drama Series category.

In addition, Cumberbatch received nominations for its role in the mini-series Paired & # 39 ; s End as well as his more recent limited series, Patrick Melrose In other words, Cumberbatch receives awards for pretty much everything he does, except MCU.

Leave it to Pepper Potts to have the best relationship between wins and nominations on this list. Paltrow has not spent much time on TV, but when she does, people are paying attention. She was nominated for her first Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a 2011 comedy series to appear in Glee – and she won.

Two years later, Paltrow was nominated for the Creative Arts Emmys for the Oustanding Informational Series or Special to produce the special Stand Up to Cancer. And we have a pretty good feeling that her role in the upcoming Netflix show Politician will have her back at Emmy's next year.

Samuel L. Jackson

As you can see, it is not always about acting. Many of these great actors have their hands in the producing side of things. It is a fitting role for Nick Fury portrayer Jackson.

The actor was one of the executive producers of the anime special Afro Samurai: Resurrection (he also voiced the protagonist), who was nominated for the Outstanding Animated Program (One Hour or More) in 2009.

Tom Hiddleston

if there is an actor you expect to have plenty of variety in his chosen projects, it is Hiddleston. While playing Loki was a big break for him in film, he has continued to explore other avenues for performance, especially those that are more theatrical.

In 2016, Hiddleston recorded and executive produced the limited series The Night Manager for the BBC. He was nominated for his role and also received a nod for the show's Outstanding Limited Series nomination, but didn't win either. Let's be real: There is no way this is the last time we see Hiddleston in an Emmy-nominated series or movie.
