In 2015, a Connecticut teenager raised the question of whether our robots have the right to carry weapons when jury-rigging a working flamthrower – and separately a semi-automatic gun – to his drone.
But on Thursday, for better or worse, you can easily build a flying flamthrower yourself. You are looking at a Throwflame TF-19 Wasp, a functional flamthrower attachment for commercial heavy lifting drums that can target up to 25 meters away, with a gallon of a gallon capable of producing a stream of fire for 100 seconds, according to the company.
Keep in mind that the price of $ 1
Throwflame tells The Verge that its video has a DJI S1000 drone with an A2 flight control, 6S 16,000mAh LiPo battery and a TBS Tango R / C remote control, which – check notes – can easily add one another $ 2,600 to the cost. (You can also see a GoPro-like camera on top.) The company says it also offers custom-made turnkey drones, ranging from $ 1000 to $ 10,000 and up, depending on how far and fast it needs to fly and what kind of image you expect that it should radiate home.
Why would you really need such a thing? Well, there was an example where a flamthrower drone was used to clear power lines in China … and the company suggests that it can be used for controlled grass burns and for destroying tits as some examples.
The company says that the flamthrost vest will be sold this Thursday. As says Boing Boing s David Pescovitz, "What could possibly go wrong?"
