Canadian Drag Race has not been on for so long, but it is already affecting the larger RuPaul’s Drag Race overall franchise. A new lip sync between queens Kiara and Priyanka has fans buzzing about how good it was.
Kiara and Priyanka lip-synced to a Celine Dion song
In this season’s fifth episode, which was Snatch Game, Kiara and Priyanka were the bottom two queens of the week and finished lip-syncing. Kiara did not do so well last week and missed narrow lip synchronization. However, Priyanka had done well in the competition so far but bombed the Snatch Game, as did Kiara.
But the two queens, who both have high-energy performances, gave their all in lip-syncing to Celine Dion’s “I Drove All Night.” It was the best lip sync of the season so far and the first where the queens took advantage of many tricks including splits and deaths.
Fans warmly welcomed the show and called it one of the best franchises have seen. Some even compared it to Alyssa and Tatianna in RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars season 2, which is considered to be the best lip sync on anyone Drag Race show or season. “Priyanka / Kiara lipsync is in line with Tatianna / Alyssa and no one can tell me otherwise,” said one person.
Many thought it should be a double shantay. “About Canada’s drag race [sic] had the budget for more episodes, this would definitely be a double shantay, ”commented a viewer on YouTube. Another person said: “The voting issue is so annoying that it should have been [sic] been a double shantay, they both turned it around. ”
Here’s what Kiara says about her elimination
In an initial interview, Kiara spoke to Now Toronto about lip sync, which will not only go down in Canadian Drag Race herstory but overall Drag Race her story.
Kiara said that because of her Snatch Game performance, she knew she would lip-sync and was willing to do so. “Shortly after the Snatch game, I knew I was going to lip-sync,” she said. “I went back to my hotel room, blew up the song, wrote on a piece of paper all the tricks I could do and just did them all. I was so focused and really hoping for a double safe. “

She continued, “I knew if I was against Priyanka, I really have to hope for a double save, because she already had a win, an important challenge victory and a mini-challenge win. Just logically, it would make more sense to keep Priyanka. So I really wanted to make sure there was a double safe. It did not happen, but I went out with a fringe. “
She says she should have done better in this dance-centric challenge.
Because of how well she performed during the lip sync, she wishes she had also gone out during the girls’ group challenge. “In the girl group’s challenge, when it was my turn, I could have gone all the way. I could have served at least a trick or two. Also in[[[[RuPaul’s Drag Race]Season 12, with the rap challenge – Widow Von’You do distortions and divisions and stuff, and Heidi N. Closet does the thing on the ground and stuff, everyone goes out. ”
However, she says she stuck to the goal because she knew there would be more moments to come. “I was like ‘I should have gone all out too’ because I know I can earn that level,” she explained. “But at the same time, I remembered that I thought I wanted to save my move for a special weapon. I kind of want to stay under the radar – not for the judges, but for the other girls, so that they would be surprised if they had to synchronize with me. “
