Every upcoming phone available in spring and summer 2020

Despite the current situation that the world is dealing with, telephone companies are still planning to release new phones from this month and into the summer. While some of us can tighten the belt right now, manufacturers like Apple and Samsung are currently building phones and they still want you to buy them.

I guess we can see how well it works. Telephone shipments fell by 38% in February compared to the same month in 2019, among coronavirus problems. I can’t imagine that March was better, but we’ll see. No one really knows how the coming months will play out, but in terms of phone releases, what follows is the current plan.

Samsung Galaxy Fold 2

samsung Galaxy 15-fold

This is the first Galaxy Fold. We still expect the sequel to appear this year.

Angela Lang / CNET

Samsung is a company that invests in the fact that folding devices are the future of mobile devices. It worked on folding screens for several years before it was presented Galaxy Fold in February 2019. Samsung’s device, which is expanding from a phone to a tablet, caught the world’s attention, but it quickly got into trouble.

Company delayed launch of $ 1,980 Fold with five months from April to September after some reporters found screen errors in their review units. This year, it is expected to launch round two in Fold, building on what it learned from last year’s disaster and February’s Galaxy Flip. There are no fixed details on when Fold could be launched, but some doctors suggest we see the phone already in the second quarter.

Known updates of Fold may include a glass screen instead of plastic and a larger internal screen. Some rumors even suggest that it comes with an S Pen pen. The coronavirus pandemic can still push back the launch, and Samsung’s still having trouble making enough Galaxy Flips for potential buyers.

Expected release date: September 2020

Huawei P40 Pro Plus

Actual photo of the P40 series.

Huawie’s P40 series consists of three phones – including the standard P40 and P40 Pro – but it is the hero – the P40 Pro Plus – that has got us most excited. It is the first phone to have a 10x optical zoom lens, it promises to be killer in low-light photography and it has a practically tag-free design. This phone will go on sale in June, but because of ongoing political difficulties, the phone will not come to the United States.

Th note 10 in all its iridescent glory.

Sarah Tew / CNET

The fate of Samsung’s annual stylus carrying flagship phone for electricity users is up in the air. Usually, we would expect the new note to come in August, guns blazing, to much fanfare and a splashy launch event. This year who knows. An early rumor suggested that Note 20 – after Samsung’s new naming convention for Galaxy S20 Phones – Would show up as early as July.

It seems quite unlikely as the world’s hunters defeat this coronavirus pandemic. It is possible that Samsung may host an online event as rivals instead of the usual arena or stadium. The company did not respond to a request for comment on the subject.

What is It’s likely that Note 20 will build on the Galaxy S20’s most important features, from 5G data rates and a fast 120 Hz refresh rate to these high-resolution cameras – when – and yet – eventually revealed.

Expected release date: August 2020

Google Pixel 4A and 4A XL

Pixel 3A.

Angela Lang / CNET

Last year, Google debuted with a budget version of its Pixel phones, Pixel 3A and 3A XL. The units turned out to be a success for the company, so we expect follow-ups in ours. Rumors of Pixel 4A and 4A XL include the same $ 399 starting price for Pixel 4A and headphone jacks, as well as a new front Punching camera. And if there was any doubt, Verizon debunked a previous claim that it dumps Pixel phones – it won’t, and said it will “continue to work with Google.”

Expected release date: April or May 2020

Redmi Note 9S

Redmi’s latest Note 9S model comes in three colors: Aurora Blue, Glacier White and Interstellar Gray.

At the end of March, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S sub-brand revealed the next-generation budget phone. It is the sequel to the Note 8 series that emerged as best-selling Android phone at the end of 2019. The biggest talking point for the Note 9S is its 5,020 mAh battery clamped under the hood, which is larger than the 5,000 mAh battery in the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra.

Other notable features include: Redmi Note’s first selfie camera in the display ever and the four-camera system on the back, led by a 48-megapixel main sensor. The Redmi Note 9S will be available globally, the company said, arriving first in Singapore and Malaysia with other release dates and pricing for the US that will be announced later. Apple iPhone SE

The original SE.

Angela Lang / CNET

Apple is expected to launch one budget-friendly phone in April, which may be the first of at least five iPhones expected to launch in 2020. This device is widely speculated to be a cheaper phone called ‘iPhone SE 2020’. It would take a similar strategy to that of 2016 iPhone SE with a mix of elements from multiple iPhones and can have a starting price of $ 399. While it is unlikely that an actual live event is, Apple could run a similar route with iPhone SE as it did when it launched a new iPad Pro, Macbook Air and Mac Mini online March 18.

Rumor release date: April 2020

Apple iPhone 12

Angela Lang / CNET

The next iPhone 12, 12 Pro and 12 Max (Apple has not confirmed the name of the phones, but we will go with it at the moment) is facing unknown water ahead – suppliers in China have already closed or are working with limited capacity due to outbreaks, which could affect the inventory in September when new iPhones are usually launched. Rumors of the devices are everywhere, with some saying that the phones will have a radical new design and other leaks point to what is likely to look like iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. Some models may have 5G, others may not.

Expected release date: At the beginning of September 2020

Moto G Stylus

Motorola Moto G Stylus

Sarah Tew / CNET

In February, Motorola announced two new members in its budget-friendly phone family: Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power. Both have a 6.4-inch full HD hole screen for a selfie camera, a Snapdragon 665 processor, 4GB of RAM and run Android 10 with Moto’s thought-provoking extra touch. As you can probably guess, the Moto G Stylus has a pen that aligns the phone with the Samsung Galaxy Note and LG Stylo. It has three rear cameras: a 48-megapixel main camera, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide “action” camera and a built-in macro camera. It costs $ 300.

Expected release date: Spring 2020

Moto G Power

G Power and G Sylus.

There is a significant friend-chart overlap between Moto G Stylus and Moto G Power. See the Moto G Stylus section above for basic specifications. The biggest difference, apart from Moto G Power’s $ 250 price tag, is that it doesn’t have a pen. Instead, the Moto G Power has a 5,000 mAh battery that Motorola claims can last for three days with regular use after a single charge. There is a rear triple camera group with a 16-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-angle camera and a built-in macro camera.

Expected release date: Spring 2020

Sony Xperia 1 ii

In February, Sony announced Xperia 1 ii and Xperia Pro which on paper shares much of the same basic specifications. It has a 21: 9 ratio 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display, Snapdragon 865, 4,000 mAh battery with wireless charging, 8GB of RAM and 256GB. It has a rear triple camera group with three 12-megapixel cameras: one with a 16-millimeter lens, one with a 24-millimeter lens and one with a 70-millimeter lens.

Like last year’s Xperia 1, Xperia 1 ii will borrow camera technology from its Alpha series of cameras like the A7ii and A9 ii. One of the best is Eye AF which instantly finds focus on a person’s eye when taking pictures. The phone also supports 5G, but not in the US. There is no word on pricing.

Expected release date: Late spring 2020

Sony Xperia Pro

Sony’s Xperia Pro has millimeter wave 5G.

In February Sony teased Xperia Pro, a 5G phone aimed at professional video players. This could be the phone that beats Apple’s iPhone from its belief in video capabilities. It has the same rear setup of three cameras and Alpha camera features as the consumer-focused Xperia 1 II, and, like its sibling package, has a 6.5-inch 21: 9 ratio 4K OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor and 8GB of RAM. The Pro also has 512 GB of storage and an HDMI / USB 3.1 port to output video. Pro supports both low band and intermediate band 5G. Xperia Pro has no price but is likely to cost more than Xperia 1 ii.
