Last week, a Twitter user had asked Musk if he supported universal-based income as He replied: "General income will be necessary over time if AI takes over most human jobs." In November 201
Interestingly, the idea of an UBI has drawn support from different corners.
During his Harvard introductory speech in May 2017, Facebook Founder
Mark Zuckerberg said that "we should explore ideas as universal basic
revenue to ensure everyone has a pillow to try new ideas."
Richard Branson, a business affair, investor and philanthropist also said that the UBI could be crucial to giving everyone an opportunity to work and enjoy themselves.
In fact, 43-year-old American entrepreneur Andrew Yang, who runs the US president in the next election, has built his campaign on the idea of offering $ 1,000 or about Rs 70,000 a month to all US citizens between 18 and 64 year – no strings attached from the US government.
Although the idea of a universal basic income sounds like an interesting thing to deal with income loss due to the fact that AI takes over human jobs in the future, there is still a long way to go before we see some development.
