Jimmy Howard meets milestone – 500 career NHL games, all with Detroit Red Wings – thanks to career rescue. Filmed February 14, 2019 in Detroit.
Detroit Detroit Red Wings is expected to announce an extension for Goaltender Jimmy Howard this week.
The one-year deal is expected to be in $ 4 million. Howard will be 35 on March 26, and an annual contract will have little risk for the wings. If he plays well, he gets another year's extension.
The wings have no goalkeeper ready in the organization. Howard has given them to the star standing over the past three seasons. From the 2016-17 season through the 2017-18 season, Howard accumulated a .915 saving percentage and 2.63 goals against the average. He has been one of Wing's best players this season, better than his .907 save percent and 3.07 goals – against the average through 47 games.
The extension extends Wings goaltending through the next season, as Jonathan Bernier has two years left on his contract.
