Clark, 7 other counties with increased COVID-19 transmission risk

CARSON CITY, Nev. (CLASS) – Eight Nevada counties must submit assessment and action plans after being flagged for an increased risk of disease transmission. The Nevada Health Response Team identified Clark County, as well as:

  • Carson City
  • Elko
  • Humboldt
  • Lander
  • Lincoln
  • new
  • Washoe

These sites met two or more of the criteria set out in the new path to recovery: Move to a new normal plan.

The team says each county was notified and will begin taking the next step. County leaders and government officials will coordinate when reviewing data through an evaluation plan.

States will then create and submit an action plan, which the Nevada Health Response Team will review and approve.

Another review of the counties will be conducted on 1

3 August. If they meet two or more of the criteria again, they will implement approved plans on 14 August to combat the spread of the virus.

If a county meets zero or only one of the criteria, they will not have to take action. But the Health Response Team says they should continue to be proactive to mitigate.
