Richard Stula, president of Teddy's Bigger Burgers, said the company investigated the authenticity of the video, which was posted to Snapchat.
"We are afraid that a former employee would create something like this trying to destroy our reputation without regard to our 20 plus years of quality and aloha," he said.
Stula said the company is consultant lawyers about potential legal action against the employees who filmed the video.
The short video shows that employees are joking because it seems like a rat is cooked on a restaurant grill.
On Friday, the State Departure Health inspected the restaurant, which will be resumed after having undergone a "complete remediation" with all equipment and tools replaced by the company.
