Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Sunday worked to start last week's blackface scandal, focusing on policies he said he would continue if re-elected, including lower mobile phone costs and a middle-class tax cut, according to reports. "Canadians work hard and they deserve to sleep easily at night. By lowering taxes and lowering cell phone bills, our liberal team will put more than $ 1,500 a year back in the pockets of hard-working Canadian families, ”he told Reuters.

CBC reported that Canadian cell phone bills are among the highest in the world at about $ 40 to $ 1
Just a week after he started his reelection campaign, Trudeau was rocked after a 2001 photo appeared in a Time magazine report wearing brownface makeup at an "Arabian Nights" party at the private school where he was teaching.
Trudeau admitted to reporters that this was not the only time he had darkened his skin to appear as another breed – he said he also did it once during a talent show in high school.
He apologized for the images, but pollster Frank Graves of EKOS Research told Reuters that surveys have shifted and the gap between his campaign and the opposition conservatives has narrowed.

Graves said he will release the poll numbers later this week, but told the news that Trudeau's leadership has "evaporated almost overnight." Another survey has conservatives in management.
