246 medical interventions during car-free Sunday in Brussels

Brussels

A total of 246 medical services were registered for the car-free Sunday in Brussels.

In 89 cases, accidents occurred on public roads while 33 interventions were linked to people who were ill, fire spokesman Walter Derieuw said Sunday night. "By comparison, we had responded 227 times last year, including 72 times for accidents, and last Sunday, a regular Sunday, we recorded 167 interventions, including 21 for accidents. Another day in the emergency room by car today has called the emergency services," he said .
