During the night on Saturday, ÖBB's emergency coordinator reported a railway accident in the Leonding area to the police. The engineer described that he saw a person with a white jacket scurrying at and then hearing a blur. Several police patrols then searched the railway line with the fire brigade department and the ÖBB coordinator. The alleged accident would have happened at a bridge near Larnhauserweg. At the described accident site, the police found a large pile of snow and a green jacket. The police discovered that someone had allowed a joke and built a snowman wearing a jacket directly on the tracks. The person perceived by the driver in a white jacket may be the unknown offender who left the tracks shortly before the collision.
