Now there is a travel ban to Croatia!

In order to protect against the spread of the corona virus, tighter mask requirements will take effect in Mallorca and the other Balearic Islands on Monday. Mouth and nose protection must be worn in accordance with the regional government in all closed public spaces, as well as on the street and outdoors, as soon as it is possible to meet other people.

On the beach, at the pool and during sports, however, no one still needs a mask. The Balearics thus follow the example of Catalonia, where due to new sources of infection there has been a tighter mask requirement since Thursday. Majorca attracts a particularly large number of German tourists, and before the Spanish border was opened, thousands of them had to visit the island in mid-June.

Travel warnings apply to these countries

The list of possible travel countries will be shorter again. Following the onset of coronavirus infections, attributed to southeastern Europe, the federal government issued warnings for three other countries on Wednesday: Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova.

This allows Austrians to travel to 30 European countries. However, some states still have requirements such as quarantine rules for entry. An overview:

No restrictions when returning to Austria:

Since June 5, it has been possible to travel from Austria to neighboring Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Slovenia without any restrictions. Germany, Liechtenstein and Switzerland opened their borders to Austrians and other EU citizens on June 1

Finland will allow Austrians to enter the country without restrictions from next Monday. Norway has extended its quarantine regulations and entry restrictions to August 20.

Before traveling, you should also consider whether there are short-term restrictions from local authorities to limit the focus of infection. Regions in Spain, especially in Catalonia and Galicia, are currently under quarantine.

Some countries have imposed upper limits on the number of infections in the countries of origin, but travelers from Austria are not currently affected. The giant of Lithuania is quarantine-free unless more than 25 Covid cases / 100,000 inhabitants have occurred in the last 14 days. For Finns, this clip is less than eight new coronary cases per 100,000 inhabitants. There is also such an upper limit in almost all German federal states, except in Brandenburg and North Rhine-Westphalia. The limit here is a number of more than 50 newly infected per 100,000 inhabitants over the last seven days.

In Austria, the number of new infections / 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days was 1.1 according to the Corona traffic light from the Complexity Science Hub (CSH).

Travel restrictions also apply to all countries outside Europe. When you return to Austria, a 14-day self-insulation is necessary.

A travel warning entitles you to a free cancellation of a booked trip. A travel warning is not a prohibition. If a return campaign is carried out from a region or country where there is an explicit travel warning, travelers can be divided into the consular costs. Upon returning from these countries, Austria requires a Covid health certificate following a negative corona test or a mandatory 14-day home quarantine. Our offenders have a penalty of up to EUR 1,450. If you test positive and break the quarantine, you can expect even higher penalties.
