Airbus plans over 3,000 layoffs in Germany

Hamburg in particular suffers from the cuts.

Airbus recently announced plans to gradually cut nearly 5,100 jobs. Now there should also be more information about individual branches: Accordingly, there are a total of 3,175 redundancies – only in German locations.

In Hamburg alone, 2 325 jobs, including Buxtehude and Fuhlsbüttel, will be reduced. Stade and Bremen were also severely affected by this austerity measure and had to accept three-digit losses in staff numbers, according to reports from ndr.de. But it is not only the production area that feels this crisis. No area will be spared from this, says work director Marco Wagner. It seems the European aircraft manufacturer is coming out of the corona crisis as a smaller company, Wagner continues.
