Almost two decades after Alias catapulted J.J. Abrams entered the top leaders of television writers producer directors and made Jennifer Garner a star, the two reunited for My Glory, I had such friends.
In a competitive situation, Apple has given a straight-line order for one-hour limited drama and executive production produced by Garner and Executive Produced by Abrams through his Bad Robot Productions Banner.
Based on the 2017 memoir with the same name of Amy Silverstein, history shows the power of friendship and resilience in the human spirit following an additional group of women who supported Silverstein as she waited for a second life-saving heart transplant.
The series, manufactured by Bad Robot Productions in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television where the Company has been under a deal is written and executed by Karen Croner, who wrote the 2017 feature adaptation of the book The tribes of Palos Verdes who recorded Garner. Also executive producer is Bad Robot's Ben Stephenson and memoir writer Amy Silverstein.
In a competition, Bad Robot Silverstein My Glory acquired such friends in 2017, shortly after the release of the memoir, to develop as a limited series.
The project extends Apple's relationship with Abrams and Bad Robot, who also has a half-hour romantic drama Little Voice from the waitress and Jessie Nelson, at the outset of a straight-line order.
Abrams famously fought to make Garner become the star in her cool ABC action drama series Alias after revealing his first series, Felicity, as he had created with Matt Reeves.
