Antetokounmpo suspended for Bucks final over headbutt

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) – Giannis Antetokounmpo has been suspended for Milwaukee’s final game of the regular season, handing out a penalty in a game on Wednesday for beating Washington’s Moe Wagner.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

Antetokounmpo will be eligible for Game 1 of the Bucks’ first round series against Orlando, which will almost certainly be played Monday or Tuesday at Walt Disney World.

The incident occurred Tuesday night, when Wagner took an indictment against Antetokounmpo during the second quarter. Antetokounmpo seemed to be talking angrily, followed Wagner to the other end and the scalp took place a few seconds later.

Antetokounmpo said after the match that headbutt was a “terrible act”

; and that if he “could go back, turn back time and go back to that game, I would not do it.” He said he was frustrated with an accumulation of contact, on a night where he had already been awarded 12 free throws during his first ten minutes of play.

Antetokounmpo was pulled from the game for the Flagrant-2 foul. He finishes the regular season with an average of 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds and 5.6 assists, numbers that are probably good enough to win him a second NBA MVP award in a row.
