Android 9 Go means a $ 30 phone can get pie before you do it

From now on, Google's Pixel phones and Essential Phone are the only devices that can run Android Pie.

Google delivers its Android 9 Pie update to even more phones with the Android Pie Go edition this fall, announced today. Ironically, it means that a $ 30 phone can get it before you do it!

Google's Android Go application is designed to provide fast and smooth performance to world-class start-up phones. But a side effect of the program is that Android Go phones are some of the first to get Google's latest OS updates, with the Android Oreo Go Edition launched at the end of last year ̵

Android Go is available on more than 200 devices in over 120 countries (including India, South Africa, USA, Nigeria and Brazil), but the devices focus on entry level and budget-friendly phones. So the nice flagship you have to save for is probably not justified.

Google lists some Android Go phones.

In addition to Android Pies different features, Google says that the Go version also provides startup startup times, release as much as 500 MB of additional storage, and adds a dashboard for monitoring the use of mobile data.

Currently, Android Pie is only available on Google's Pixel Phones and Essential Phone . Motorola today announces that it will send Pie to many of its flagships this fall. Android phones found on the Android P beta program ( see list here ) said get the update in late autumn but this list excludes devices from popular answering machines Samsung and LG. So you may have to wait even longer for the phones to get the update.
