Anchorage's Langdon hired as Pelicans general manager

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) – The NBA's New Orleans Pelicans hired former Anchorage hoops standout Trajan Langdon as the team's general manager on Sunday.

"We are very pleased to welcome Trajan and his family to the New Orleans Pelicans , "Said Pelicans Owner Gayle Benson in a press release.

Since 2016, Langdon has been the assistant general manager of the Brooklyn Nets, at the same time serving as the general manager of its NBA G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets . Langdon was also named the 2018-19 NBA Basketball Executive of the year after Long Island with the NBA G League's best regular season record.

Langdon had a memorable prep basketball career at East High School during the 1

990s, where he won three straight consecutive large-school state championships and played in a McDonald's All-America game.

He then went on to have an All-American college career at Duke and was selected as a lottery pick in the NBA Draft. Langdon played for the Cleveland Cavaliers for three seasons before going overseas to play professionally in Russia and Europe.
