When Alex Trebek announced that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in March, "Jeopardy!" The host also told the fans that he planned to continue working during treatment.
Now the 78-year-old opens in a new interview on how it was like losing the game program and revealed there were moments as he "was on the floor turning in pain."
"It got really bad," Trebek assumed CBS Sunday Morning hosted Jane Pauley in a preview of the interview being aired on Sunday. "I was on the floor twisted in pain. It went from a 3 to a 11 [on the pain scale]. And I just couldn't believe. I didn't know what happened. "

Trebek – who said he got finding out that he had cancer after seeing the doctor about stomach upset, which tests turned out to be a lump "the size of a small fist" inside the abdomen "- also had to wear a hairpiece during production because of his treatment.
Now he challenges viewers to find out if it's his real hair when they see him in the air for season 36.  "And so what the challenge for" Jeopardy! Trebek comes soon to have a break from their host services and he says that during this time he hopes to grow his own hair.
"We have the summer months off. So hopefully my own hair will grow back. Because I like my own hair!"
