Accenture chooses Julie Sweet as CEO

PLC has been appointed head of the company's operations in North America as its new CEO.

Julie Sweet, 51, becomes CEO of Accenture and joins the company's board on 9 September. 1. Since 2015, she has led Accenture's North American operations, a division that accounts for almost half of the company's revenue. She started at Accenture 2010 and has also served as the company's general consultant and compliance manager.

Accenture's CEO, 58-year-old David Rowland, becomes Executive Chairman.

Mr. Rowland, who was previously the company's finance manager, has been running Accenture since the company's former CEO and chairman Pierre Nanterme left in January. Mr Nanterme died on January 31, after being diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016.

Mr. Nanterme was CEO for eight years and was the company's third CEO since 2001. The late leader moved the company to new areas for consultation, including digital marketing, cyber security and data analysis. During his service, Accenture spent more than $ 6 billion on over 100 deals.

In April, Accenture said it was buying the ad agency Droga5 but did not disclose the terms of the deal. Consulting services have in recent years built up design and marketing. The company also said in April that it would buy Germany-based consulting company Zielpuls.

Ms. Sweet said the demand for diversified sales growth continues to be a priority for the company in its direction.

Accenture reported $ 41.6 billion in revenue for its 2018 fiscal year, increasing 13% from the previous year. It also reported $ 4.06 billion in profits, an increase of 18%. The company employed approximately 459,000 people at the end of August last year.

Accenture shares increased by 38% so far and 17% over the past 12 months.
