Who will the Minnesota Vikings choose to fill in for their injured right guard?
When the Minnesota Vikings hit the road to face the Indianapolis Colts this weekend, they will have to do so without their starting guard, Pat Elflein.
Minnesota announced on Thursday that they have placed Elflein on an injured reserve, which means that the offensive lineman must at least miss the team̵
Elflein was probably the weakest of the five Vikings who started offensive linemen during their loss to the Green Bay Packers last week. So even if his loss is not perfect for Minnesota, circumstances could get worse.
Now the Vikings must find out who will be their starting guard for the next three weeks while Elflein is out. He may end up missing more than three games depending on the severity of his injury (which Minnesota does not have to reveal), so the Vikings may need to find a more permanent alternative on the right guard rather than someone who can only fill in a few weeks.
Given that there is not much time for the next game and that the Vikings do not have much when it comes to spending money to get someone in from a free agency, who are some potential alternatives that the team can look at as Elflein’s replacement?
